The attendance for the Strenght and Conditiong (S&C) training delivered today by OSEP facilitators was over whelming. A total of 63 participants from NFs and SINIS attended the training.
In his opening remarks, the NOCSI President highlighted the importance of having a S&C coach with in the setup of the National Federation coaching structure.
S&C plays a vital role in the preparation of an athlete to compete and the prevention of injuries Mr Rara added. The Community Strength & Conditioning Coach training programme will provide aspiring coaches with the skills to use the functional movement screen to develop appropriate conditioning training for athletes and help meet the demands of their specific sport and develop periodisation plans and fitness tests to check progress of athletes. The S&C training will conclude on wednesday 24th of May.
