In a recent email circulated to all National Federations, the SIAC Board congratulate all NFs who were on the 2023 Pacific Games sports program and athletes for their outstanding performances and the successful delivery of the 17th edition of the Pacific Games in Honiara last year. SIAC also thanked the NFs who were not on the 2023 PG sports program for their massive support during the two weeks of intense competition.
As a nation we have never seen or experienced a sporting event of such magnitude before. We have also witnessed for ourselves during the two weeks of intense sport competition amongst athletes from the 24 nations, Challenging, Celebrating and creating Friendship that athletes were the integral part of any sporting event.
At that juncture, the SIAC encouraged all National Federations to appoint an Athlete rep for each Federation. Having the athlete rep within the NF, it will allow the SIAC to work closely with the National Federation to effectively deliver its activities and functions and address issues faced by athletes to create an environment more conducive to the athletes welfare to enable them continue to excel in their respective sports.
On the same note, the AC kindly ask NFs who already have athlete reps to submit their names and contacts to the SIAC Secretary.
