Solomon Islands female sprinter, Jovita Arunia Ambrose has set a new indoor 60m National Record of 8.19s at the recent World Indoor Athletics Championship in Glasgow, Scotland.
Speaking to to the MEDIA, Ms Ambrose said despite the jet lag, she did not let such situation get the best of her resulting in managing to set a new national indoor record.
"From the recent World Championship, I have learned a lot technically and gained experience on what I need to improve on when i return home to better my performance in the future said Ms Ambrose"
With her recent preparations before traveling over to Europe for the World Indoor Athletics Championship, Ms Ambrose thank SINIS for providing the facility for her to be able to train prior her departure.
Ms Ambrose thanked her friends, fans and family for always believing in her and for the support rendered to her through her journey. Despite the many challenges I faced, it is because of your continuous support that I am where I am today in my career in athletics.
The previous women national indoor record of 8.48s was set by former national sprinter and Olympian, Ms Pauline Kwalea on the 10th of March 2012 in Istanbul, Turkey.
The World Indoor 60m championship held was held from March 1-3 2024.
